Proprietary macOS menu-bar cleaner for developer leftovers by indie dev Dimitris Kiriakakis (dimeloper): Xcode DerivedData/archives/device support, simulators and swap/memory pressure, package-manager caches (npm/pnpm/yarn/bun/uv/pip/CocoaPods/SwiftPM/pub/Gradle/Homebrew), Android SDK + Docker, node_modules/.venv/Pods/target build folders, and git worktrees Claude Code/Codex/Cursor agents leave behind - every item rated by what cleaning it costs current work ('Safe now' to 'Affects active work'), worktrees rated by branch state. Preview of exact paths and commands before anything moves to the Trash; also an app uninstaller and a free-space/low-space monitor. v0.1.x, macOS 26+ only, Developer-ID signed + notarized, Sparkle EdDSA updates. Free to scan; EUR 14.99 one-time to clean (up to 3 Macs, 12 months of updates).
'I actually built it' (launch comment); site credits 'made by dimeloper'.

Signing: download page claims Developer-ID signature + Apple notarization; 0.1.8 bundle carries _CodeSignature and its SHA-256 matches the value published on the page (verified 2026-11-03).
Updates: Sparkle - Info.plist has SUFeedURL https://devsweeper.com/appcast.xml and SUPublicEDKey; every appcast enclosure carries sparkle:edSignature (EdDSA), binaries hosted on GitHub Releases. Daily check can be switched off in Settings.
Privacy page dated 2026-10-23: only two outbound requests - the update feed and a weekly Lemon Squeezy licence check; 'no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking and no account'. A local log of every cleanup is kept in ~/Library/Application Support/DevSweeper.
Elevation: no privileged helper documented; works without Full Disk Access (a few protected locations degrade gracefully), deletes to Trash via a deletion-time allowlist - never through a symlink.
Only a general contact email (dkiriakakis@gmail.com) is published - no security.txt or disclosure process.
Source closed: releases repo README states 'DevSweeper is proprietary software; the source code is not public', so builds cannot be reproduced.
macOS supervisor for coding agents; same releases-only distribution pattern (dimeloper/agentnod-releases, created 2026-10-03, ~3 weeks before DevSweeper).
The author's free macOS app, mentioned on DevSweeper's privacy page; distributed through the homebrew tap dimeloper/homebrew-tap.
Research notes
Brand-new 0.x line: v0.1.0 shipped 2026-10-21, nine builds through v0.1.8 by 2026-10-28 - first-week patch cadence, currently first-weeks-in-public maturity.
Deletion-safety design is the product pitch: every cleanup previews exact paths and commands, Trash by default with permanent delete behind a second confirmation, an allowlist checked at the moment of deletion ('never through a symlink, never your documents'), agent worktrees with uncommitted changes or agent locks never removed, and Downloads/Photos/Docker volumes/backups are review-only.
macOS 26+ only: no App Store edition because the sandbox cannot read ~/Library or run xcrun/git on the user's behalf (site FAQ); direct DMG instead.
Honest positioning in the launch comment itself: names DaisyDisk and CleanMyMac as better at whole-disk exploration and system-wide cleaning, claims only the dev-leftovers niche.
Third app in a side portfolio: AgentNod releases began ~3 weeks earlier (2026-10-03) and free app Overhead ships via the author's homebrew tap - three macOS apps maintained next to a full-time tech-lead job.
Top-level comment in the monthly App Pile megathread (post by Mstormer) - the required venue for apps not in the Mac App Store without the subreddit's Trust/Transparency status; follows the mandatory Problem/Comparison/Pricing format and opens with its own headline 'DevSweeper (menu bar disk cleaner for developers, macOS 26+)'. Earliest author promotion found: the profile shows zero posts and comments only from 2026-10-22, 11 days before; local archive copy 2026-11-03.
my Mac kept running out of disk, and most of it wasn't mine: Xcode DerivedData, simulators, package caches, Docker, and the git worktrees Claude Code and Codex leave behind. Sorting by size didn't tell me what I'd lose by deleting something. — Problem statement
it rates each item by what cleaning it costs your current work (from Safe now to Affects active work), rates agent worktrees by their branch, never removes uncommitted work, and shows the exact paths and commands before anything moves to the Trash — Trust signal
free to scan, EUR 14.99 once to clean from the app (up to 3 Macs), 7-day trial, no account — Trust signal
