Proprietary macOS Finder extension (FIFinderSync, '100% native Swift', sandboxed) from solo Italian dev Paolo Sanzarello ('Amastra'). One-time $14.99 lifetime license for 3 Macs via amastra.cc or Gumroad. Launched April 2026 as a 5-feature Finder fix (true cut/paste, RedQuitter, secure erase, archiver, shortcuts); within six months expanded to a '20-in-1' toolkit - Uninstaller Studio (deep-clean app leftovers), disk Analyzer, Vault Studio (AES-256 sparseimage), Image/Video/Audio/PDF Studios, folder compare, FTP/SFTP client, iCloud Cloud Share. Closed source; claims Apple-notarized and 100% offline.

- Closed source; distributed as a paid DMG via Gumroad/website
- Author claims 'Fully signed and Notarized by Apple' (Sep 12 announcement) - plausible since Gatekeeper-friendly macOS distribution effectively requires it, but not independently verified
- Site contact is a generic gmail address (snzpsb@gmail.com); no security policy or disclosure process found
Relations
- same author CAI Facile, TetraQ, Eventyze, Spicci, Desk+ (WIP), Analogic
amastra.cc footer: 'Developed by Paolo Sanzarello'. Site lists six Amastra apps; reddit history adds Analogic, a 'bit-perfect vintage-styled' macOS audio player promoted to r/audiophile and r/TestFlight (Sep-Oct 2026) - ~7 products from one solo dev.
- inspired by Command X, RedQuitter, Keka (single-purpose tools it replaces)
There are other single-purpose tools out there like Command X (which only does cut/paste), the original RedQuitter (which is old and unmaintained), or Keka (for archives). Instead of running 3 or 4 separate utilities... FinderTools combines all of these.
Research notes
- Scope explosion: launched 2026-04-16 as a 5-feature Finder fix (cut/paste, RedQuitter, secure erase, archiver, shortcuts); by September it advertised 22 modules ('11 Studios + 11 Tools') including video editing, EBU R128 audio mastering, PDF redaction, an encryption vault, and an FTP/SFTP client - maximal feature breadth for a solo dev.
- Portfolio dilution: amastra.cc lists six Amastra apps (FinderTools, CAI Facile, TetraQ, Eventyze, Spicci, Desk+ WIP) and the same account separately promotes Analogic, a macOS audio player - roughly seven products maintained by one person.
- Product-first launch: first sold via free Firebase hosting (findertools-a79c5.web.app, still live); the amastra.cc domain was registered 9 days after the first announcement - the reverse of the wave's domain-first pattern.
- Promotion moved into other people's threads: from mid-October 2026 the author answers Mac support questions with tailored pitches ('I built FinderTools, and its X feature is made for this...'), often linking the Sep 12 announcement. Several launch-era posts were spam-filtered by reddit (Apr 18, Apr 26 r/apple, May 3 r/SideProject, Sep 12 r/macapps repost).
- Secure Erase is marketed as 'forensically-proof zero-byte cryptographic overwriting' with 'APFS UUID obfuscation' - on a copy-on-write APFS volume and SSD wear leveling, guaranteed block overwrite is not something a user-space app can promise. Vault Studio's 'zero-knowledge AES-256' is, per the site's own UI, a standard macOS AES-XTS-256 encrypted sparseimage.
- The 'First100' early-adopter 50%-off coupon announced for the first 100 buyers in April is still the site's wired-in Buy Now link six months later - a permanent launch discount, not scarcity pricing.

Sep 12, 2026 r/MacOS — I built an all-in-one native utility for macOS Finder. Today I added full Video, Audio & PDF Studios directly into the right-click menu by u/afraid-bar-1748
The 'massive update' announcement adding Video/Audio/PDF Studios - documents the mid-2026 scope explosion. This is the post the author himself links from support-thread comments. A same-day r/macapps repost (1weiqn1) was spam-filtered.
Hey everyone! Solo dev here. — Intro cliche
Why do we need heavy DAW apps just to trim an audio clip or normalize loudness? Why open Premiere or Handbrake just to cut a video snippet, blur a license plate, or compress a file? Why can't we cut/paste with Cmd+X, or permanently clean app leftovers without 5 different background daemons eating 200MB+ of RAM? — Problem statement
a single, 100% native Swift extension with 0.0% idle CPU that injects straight into the Finder context menu — Tech bingo
Everything runs 100% offline and locally on your Mac. Fully signed and Notarized by Apple. — Trust signal
I hate subscriptions as much as you do. FinderTools is a one-time purchase with Lifetime updates. — Problem statement
What's the most annoying Finder limitation you deal with daily? I'll be hanging out in the comments all day to answer questions! — Engagement hook
Apr 16, 2026 r/macapps — I got so frustrated with macOS not having a native "Create New File" or true "Cut/Paste" that I spent months building a native System Extension to fix it. by u/afraid-bar-1748
Earliest author promotion found; the same body was submitted twice 5 minutes apart (1sne2ck). Signed 'Paolo'. Product then sold via Firebase-hosted findertools-a79c5.web.app; the 5-feature version, before the Studio expansion.
I got tired of installing 5 different sketchy menu-bar apps just to get these basic functionalities. So, I spent the last few months scratching my own itch and built a tool called FinderTools. — Problem statement
a 100% native Swift extension (zero Electron garbage, negligible RAM footprint) that deeply integrates into the OS — Virtue
The first 100 people from this subreddit that want to try it can use the code First100 at checkout to get it at half the normal cost forever. — Engagement hook
