GPL-3.0 cross-platform (macOS/Windows/Linux) disk cleaner, space analyzer, and privacy tool in Rust + Tauri. Deep Cleanup across system/app caches, 6+ browsers, and project build artifacts (Node, Rust, Gradle, Swift, Python, .NET, Godot, CMake) plus Docker caches and local AI model files; duplicate finder that always keeps one copy; app uninstaller with leftovers; startup-item and system-optimization manager on a validated built-in rule set; optional AI explanations of cleanup items (free daily quota or own key); companion scan-only-by-default CLI. One of the heavyweights of the 2026 wave: 4.2k stars, 20 releases in ~10 weeks.

Mechanical checks derived from the fields above. Each row is one fact; "not yet checked" means exactly that, not a failure. There is no composite score; read them together.

Research notes
- Mislabeled launch: the CSV's reddit URL is a post by 'company_url_finder', a karma-farming account (56k post karma) that bulk-posts random GitHub repos to r/BestGitHubRepos and spams its own companyurlfinder.com API links - a third-party scrape of the repo, not an author announcement.
- Astroturf-flavored comments on that post: after two deleted comments, generic praise replies ('Scan-only by default is the right call for cleanup tools.', 'Grouping cleanup by actual reclaimable space is useful.') from one-post-style accounts; the poster then replies to itself twice.
- Actually delivered the dev-junk-cleaner niche the wave keeps promising: build artifacts across 8 ecosystems, Docker caches, local AI model files.
- Reads multilingual-marketed: README localized to zh-CN/zh-TW/ja/ko/ru; author 'Harry' with a Chinese-following GitHub profile - the rare 2026 cleaner with an established maintainer.
- Safety posture is the differentiator: 'it never accepts arbitrary registry paths, terminal commands, or scripts', keeps-one-copy duplicate deletion, explicit --apply/--yes in the CLI.

Sep 23, 2026 r/BestGitHubRepos — MangoDisk - a safety-first disk cleaner for macOS and Windows that finds real reclaimable space without automating away the risky decisions by u/company-url-finder
Canonical CSV entry, but NOT an author announcement: posted by a repo-spam account 7 weeks after v1.0.0. Two of five comments deleted; remaining praise is generic.
most all-in-one "system cleaner" apps either barely move the needle or are the sketchy kind that deletes things it shouldn't and calls it optimization — Problem statement
keeping every destructive action reviewed and confirmed before it happens rather than automated away — Trust signal
it never accepts arbitrary registry paths, terminal commands, or scripts, so there's no way to point it at something unvetted — Trust signal
