MIT open-source disk space analyzer for Windows x64, analyzer-first rather than cleaner-first: file tree + interactive space map + Inspector, largest-files and file-type category views, advanced Boolean search, bounded text preview. Deletion path is deliberately careful: Duplicate Finder requires full-file SHA-256 verification, keeps one copy by default (selecting all copies needs two warnings), protects project/dependency/application/system locations, moves to the Recycle Bin with a History that restores individual files or whole runs, and file actions (rename/recycle/mkdir/copy/move) refuse occupied destinations with Undo/Redo. Saved .diskoryxscan baselines compare added/removed/changed files against a fresh scan. Stack is a hybrid: Electron UI, a Rust NTFS MFT scanner (UAC only for the scan worker), and a .NET C# file-action helper. Local-first: no account, no uploads, works offline. Unsigned builds ('early testing release' SmartScreen warning acknowledged); setup and portable artifacts via GitHub releases; Ko-fi donations.
Mechanical checks derived from the fields above. Each row is one fact; "not yet checked" means exactly that, not a failure. There is no composite score; read them together.

Similarity to BitBroom flagged in the launch thread: both are open-source Windows disk analyzers with SHA-256 duplicate finders, though BitBroom (July 2026) is C#/WPF and Diskoryx is Electron+Rust

r/coolgithubprojects — Diskoryx v1.0.5 is out — an update to my free, open-source Windows disk analyzer. Looking for feedback! by u/fitrelation7625
Canonical gallery post for the v1.0.5 update, a week after launch; comment thread is where the BitBroom similarity and the unanswered 'UI screams AI' question surfaced.
I first posted about Diskoryx when I released the initial version. I've kept working on it since then — Intro cliche

No account required, no uploading your files or filenames. Disk analysis runs locally and works offline. — Trust signal
with v1.0.5 now available, I wanted to share how much has changed—not just in this update, but across the releases since that first post. — Engagement hook
