DiskScope
Quiet · Website · Source repository
Disk space analyzer and cleaner for Windows/macOS/Linux built with Rust + Tauri + React. French-first site (diskscope.fr) with English route; claims lightweight, fuzzy search, and a native app uninstaller; 'free. No account, no ads, no telemetry.' Repo is TypeScript-dominant (Tauri v2 front-end, Rust back-end).

Research notes
- Built-and-parked: repo created same day as the domain, v1.0.1-v1.2.0 shipped June 3-19 2026, then no commits for 4 months; the reddit launch came Oct 10.
- False 'open source' claim: site and post call it open source but the repo has no license file at all - source-available at best, unlicensed legally.
- CSV said GitHub Repo 'N/A': the repo only surfaces inside the site's JS bundle (github.com/JoJoLaBagarre/diskscope), not in the deleted post body.
- Dormant-account promotion: reddit account from 2018 with 2 total posts ever, both the DiskScope announcement, zero karma footprint otherwise.
- The canonical r/coolgithubprojects post was deleted by the author the same day; the r/foss twin survives.
- Post title says 'Windows and MacOS' while CSV and site claim Linux too - sloppy copy or dropped platform.
