diskreceipt

Active · Source repository

Read-only macOS CLI (one Bash script, runs on the Bash 3.2 that ships with macOS) that scans the home folder and prints a 'receipt' of developer disk usage: node_modules, .venv, Xcode (DerivedData, Archives, simulators), Docker, and package-manager caches (npm, uv, Gradle, etc.). Each line is labeled safe/check/keep with the exact cleanup command; a 'quick wins' section lists the biggest safe items as paste-ready commands. It never deletes anything. Installs via a Homebrew tap or curl. Same author as the paid Shedi cleaner; the repo homepage and guide links point to shedi.app.

I vibe coded a tool to find what my vibe coded projects left on my disk. 26.8 GB. — Intro cliche
Every side project I start with Claude Code leaves something behind. A node_modules here, a .venv there, a build folder I forget about the moment the idea dies. — Problem statement
It only reads and never deletes anything. Every line says whether it's safe to clean and gives the command. — Trust signal
It's free and open source, called diskreceipt on GitHub, if anyone wants it. — Virtue
What's the biggest pile of leftovers your vibe coding has made? — Engagement hook
